INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION AND COEXISTENCE IN SCHOOLS​

 

This course equips educators and teachers to manage social and cultural diversity in schools, developing skills in mindful communication and conflict management, promoting empathy, strengthening interpersonal bonds and creating an inclusive and harmonious school environment.​

OBJECTIVES

This initiative aims to achieve the following objectives:

– To understand the concept and styles of communication;
– To reflect on the role of mindful communication in building positive relationships, particularly in a school setting;
– To master techniques and strategies for mindful communication;
– To identify the main challenges and barriers to communication;
– To understand the concept of coexistence in a school context;
– To identify structures and strategies for coexistence in schools;
– To reflect on the challenges to coexistence in a school setting;
– To understand the concept of conflict, and the types and characteristics of conflicts in schools;
– To recognise the causes and effects of conflicts;
– To be familiar with the types of conflicts and styles of conflict management;
– To acquire strategies and techniques for positive conflict management and the promotion of harmonious coexistence in a school environment;
– To reflect on personal, professional, pedagogical and institutional practices
