OUR STORY
Mediation in Dialogue emerged in 2018 as an initiative of teachers, researchers, and (former) students whose fields of activity and training converge in and through Mediation.
The various members of the group came together to promote and enhance the sharing and reflection on Mediation, its theories, research, and practices in diverse areas and contexts of action. This initiative was supported by the Department of Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology of the Institute of Education at the University of Minho.
In 2024, Mediação em Diálogo was established as a non-profit association, and the formalization process led to the emergence of a new name: AMEDIIC - Associação Mediálogo - Investigação, Intervenção e Capacitação (Mediation in Dialogue Association - Research, Intervention and Capacity Building ). Along with the new name, a new visual identity also emerged. The colors remain the same, as a testament to the group's journey since 2018.

FOUNDING PARTNERS

Isabel Viana
Thinking about mediation, in its multiple expressions, embodies the conviction of fostering humanizing footprints that make me feel we are the world. These footprints are amplified by dynamics of believing in and trusting people, of promoting education for the development of creative global citizenship, for a culture of peace, through very authentic experiential interactions that weave together co-created interests and affective connections that increase inclusive conviviality.
Assistant Professor at IE and integrated researcher at CIEC, UMinho

Sílvia Cunha
She states that her training in mediation not only shaped her but transformed her. Therefore, she advocates for the promotion of a culture of mediation, in order to (co)construct more dialogical, less reactive, and more empathetic societies.
Research Fellow, GPE-UMinho
PhD candidate, CECS, UMinho

Rômulo Barreto
