PRESENTATION
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we announce the 2nd Mediation Forum, which will take place in Braga, at the D. Diogo de Sousa Museum, on 13 and 14 November 2026.
As in the previous year, this Forum will provide a space for dialogue, reflection and collective action to promote a culture of peace and mediation, encouraging its wider dissemination and bringing it closer to society.
In a constantly changing society, characterised by rapid technological advancement, social diversity and the increasing complexity of
human relationships, where conflicts — inherent to coexistence — not only persist but intensify, mediation stands out as a fundamental and strategic approach, fostering the development of healthier and more sustainable relationships. Based on principles such as active listening, trust-building and shared responsibility, this methodology not only facilitates the resolution of disputes but also contributes to strengthening social cohesion and fostering a more conscious and participatory culture of dialogue.
The 2nd Mediation Forum aims to bring together professionals, academics, students and those interested in the subject to exchange experiences, disseminate best practice and broaden knowledge of mediation in various contexts: community, school, family, intercultural, organisational and digital, amongst others.
The programme includes a National Mediation Exhibition featuring various organisations promoting mediation, the presentation of work in different formats (oral presentations, PechaKucha, posters, videos, storytelling, pitches), a conference, a workshop, M-talks and a mediation simulation.
The main objectives are:
> to create a forum for raising awareness of mediation, promoting networking and collaborative practices
> to encourage reflection and critical thinking on mediation practices
> to help consolidate mediation as a transformative practice in the day-to-day lives of organisations and individuals
